Latest Trends in NEET Exam

The NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test) has seen several evolving trends over the years due to rising competition, changes in exam structure, and advancements in education technology. Here are some key NEET exam trends to be aware of:

  • Increasing Number of NEET Aspirants
The number of NEET applicants has been consistently rising, with over 20 lakh students expected to appear in NEET 2025.
The competition for MBBS and BDS seats is getting tougher, making strategic preparation crucial.
  • Digital & AI-Based Learning for NEET Preparation
AI-powered personalized learning is helping students analyze their weak areas and improve performance.
Platforms like TridaPro provide adaptive test series, AI-driven performance analytics, and real-time doubt resolution.
Students now prefer online mock tests that simulate real exam conditions for better time management.
  • Shift Towards NCERT-Centric Questions
85-90% of NEET questions are directly based on NCERT textbooks.
There is an increased emphasis on conceptual clarity and application-based questions in Biology, Physics, and Chemistry.
  • Changes in NEET Question Paper Trends
Assertion-Reasoning Type Questions and Application-Based MCQs are becoming more common.
Increase in integrated and numerical-based questions in Physics & Chemistry.
Focus on high-weightage topics like Genetics, Human Physiology, and Organic Chemistry.
  • Increase in Cut-Off Scores
The NEET cut-off scores have been rising due to better preparation strategies and increasing competition.
In 2023, the General category cut-off was around 720-137 marks, while for SC/ST/OBC, it ranged between 136-107 marks.
Higher competition means students need structured preparation and mock test practice to secure top ranks.
  • State Quota & Deemed University Admissions Impacting Seat Allocation
85% of medical seats are reserved under state quotas, and admissions depend on state-wise cut-offs.
Deemed universities have higher tuition fees, leading students to aim for government medical colleges through top NEET ranks.
  • Increase in NEET Re-Attempts
Since there's no attempt limit for NEET, an increasing number of drop-year candidates are reappearing to improve scores.
Many students are dedicating an entire year to focused NEET preparation after Class 12.
